Medicine and cinema: teaching through the moving image

Coordinated by Alexandre Wenger and Radu Suciu, the university Ciné-club series titled "White coats and silver screens" is inspired by their teachings in medical humanities. Both frequently use cinema as an educational tool to understand the social, cultural, economic and political aspects of a medical career.

HealthCH 2025 symposium: rethinking integrated care in Switzerland

On the 9th of September, the UNIGE Faculty of Medicine's Institute of Global Health welcomed over 300 participants from diverse backgrounds to discuss the challenges facing the development and scale-up of integrated health networks in Switzerland. These are major political and economic issues on which research provides a solid academic perspective.

Reforming for better training: medical education reinvents itself

The Faculty of Medicine is embarking on an ambitious reform of medical education. This project, called ENSI 23-27, aims to meet current needs while incorporating the challenges of artificial intelligence and changes in healthcare practices. Major discussions are also underway on the 1st year of medical studies, in Geneva as elsewhere in Switzerland.

Tackling inequalities from the start of medical studies

It is essential to take better account of sex and gender issues in the human medicine curriculum in order to avoid mismanagement and diagnostic bias. The Faculty of Medicine's Medicine, Gender and Equity Group, led by Professor Angèle Gayet-Ageron and Drs Melissa Dominicé Dao and Sara Arsever, is working to combat inequalities.
