Marie Cohen obtained a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of La Rochelle (France) in 2003. She then joined the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva (UNIGE), where she studied the molecular aspects of embryonic implantation. In 2009, she was appointed as “maître assistante” and continued her research—supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and various private foundations—on the regulation of cell invasion and differentiation, as well as the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic tools in gynecology and obstetrics. In 2010, she obtained her accreditation to supervise research (HDR) from the University of La Rochelle, and in 2011, she received an excellence bursary from UNIGE. That same year, she was appointed as a Privat-Docent in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Faculty of Medicine, promoted to Assistant Professor in 2014, and became Associate Professor in 2024.
