Conclusion of the 2025 Summer School - Children at the Heart of Human Rights

Directors: Roberta Ruggiero and Jean Zermatten, Program Assistant: Elena Patrizi

Last week, our students successfully wrapped up the XI cycle of the Summer School “Children at the Heart of Human Rights”.

Over two intensive weeks, participants explored the legal frameworks that shape children’s rights, engaging with distinguished professors and experts who delivered insightful lectures on topics ranging from the normative content of the Convention on the Rights of the Child to regional instruments like the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child. Sessions also focused on key rights, including the right to health, the right to participation, and the right to identity.

A highlight of the program was the series of study visits to leading institutions in Geneva, including the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Save the Children and Defence for Children International, providing students with a direct perspective on the implementation of children’s rights.

We warmly thank all the professors and experts for their invaluable contributions and look forward to welcoming the next cohort of participants in the upcoming edition.
