Trained in Lausanne, Alend Saadi holds a doctoral degree and dual board certifications in general and advanced visceral surgery and is a specialist in bariatric surgery. He has served as a senior surgeon at the Neuchâtel Hospital Network (RHNe) since 2015, where he leads the Centre for Obesity and metabolic diseases, recognised as a reference center by the Swiss Multidisciplinary Obesity Society (SMOB). The Centre is also mandated by the Swiss Intercantonal Agreement on Highly Specialised Medicine (MHS) for complex bariatric procedures. 

Involved in clinical research, he contributes to multicenter studies and has initiated several scientific collaborations with the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG). He also serves as Vice President of the ASRCC (Wetern Switzerland Surgery Association). As a lecturer at the University of Lausanne since 2017, he mentors medical students and residents, participates in continuing education (laparoscopy courses, general practitioners’ training, clinical immersions, CCrISP), and develops innovative teaching tools. He is also committed to public outreach through media interventions and public events.  He co-founded the association "Pour un poids sain" and launched community-based projects such as “Dualité pesante: Regard sans filtre.” As a clinician, educator, and engaged leader, he combines expertise, innovation, and social responsibility within an integrated vision of healthcare. He is appointed Adjunct Professor in the Department of Surgery at the UNIGE Faculty of Medicine in April 2025.
