Solange MOLL

Solange Moll studied in Geneva and obtained her medical degree in 1986, followed by a doctorate in medicine in 1989. After completing her clinical training in internal medicine and nephrology, with a FMH qualification in internal medicine specialising in nephrology in 1996, she trained in basic research in immunonephrology laboratories thanks to an SNSF grant. She also completed a 3-year course in nephropathology at the University of Basel. On her return to Geneva in 2001, she joined the Division of Clinical Pathology at the HUG, where she is currently Staff Physician in charge of nephropathology.
Appointed to the UNIGE Faculty of Medicine as a privat-docent in 2006, as a lecturer in 2015 and as an associate professor in the Department of Pathology and Immunology in 2019, she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in human medicine and, since 2018, in the new Biomedical Sciences curriculum shared by the Faculties of Medicine and Science. Her research work, which has been supported since 2001 by various funds and by the SNSF as part of an international consortium that she leads (the "STOP CKD" project), focuses on the pathophysiological aspects of renal fibrosis. She retires from the Faculty of Medicine in September 2025.
