Two minutes with... Mathieu Brochet

Mathieu Brochet, professor in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Medicine and head of the Faculty's proteomics platform, is passionate about biology... and running. Inspired both by the teachers who introduced him to the beauty of living organisms and by the teams that surround him today, he deciphers the mechanisms of the parasite responsible for malaria in order to discover how to stop the infection process.

An educator, he is in charge of the first year of medical school and, in the third year, the Infections Unit. For him, scientific research is neither a sprint nor a marathon, but rather an ultra-trail.
