Nadia M. BAJWA
Associate Professor

Nadia M. Bajwa is a staff physician at HUG and a member of the Unit for Development and Research in Medical Education (UDREM) at the UNIGE Faculty of Medicine. She graduated in medicine from Northeast Ohio Medical University and completed her paediatrics training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the United States, before joining HUG in 2006 as a senior resident. In 2008, she took on responsibility for post-graduate training in paediatrics, where she developed structured teaching, mentoring and supervision programmes for resident physicians. Holding both a Master's degree and a PhD in medical education from the University of Illinois at Chicago, she was awarded the title of privat-docent by the UNIGE Faculty of Medicine in 2021.
Her research focuses on the assessment of professionalism, the analysis of conflicts in clinical settings, and the factors influencing career choices among medical students. A recipient of several competitive research grants, including an SNSF grant, she works on pedagogical innovation, the development of assessment tools, and the training of clinician-educators. Winner of the Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching, she also leads initiatives aimed at promoting safe, inclusive and equitable learning environments, particularly in the prevention of harassment in clinical settings. Since 2024, she has chaired the Master's Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, reflecting her commitment to academic excellence and the training of the next generation of physicians. She was appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics, Gynaecology and Obstetrics in January 2026.
