Aurélie is a senior researcher in genomics and diagnostics with a strong expertise in data science and analytical pipeline development.

She graduated from Ecole des Ponts ParisTech (Paris), with a major in Mathematics and Computer Science, studied Computational Biology at ETH (Zürich), and obtained her PhD in data science and cancer genomics at Institut Curie (Paris).

Before joining Pr Frayling’s team in early 2024, she dedicated 10 years to research projects in cancer genomics, and worked on refining the molecular classifications for gliomas, prostate cancers, and bladder cancers, identifying transcriptomic biomarkers and developing molecular tools for diagnostic purposes. She then moved to industry and led the R&D of AI diagnostic tools at Owkin for 2 years, coordinating a team of data scientists, ML engineers, and product managers to turn AI models into medical devices for pre-screening or risk assessment in oncology. She spent 2 more years at the NGO FIND to further work on the systematic evaluation of such tools, developing a secure analytical platform and building reproducible analytical pipelines to inform policy makers.

Aurelie has extensive experience with computational approaches to reveal statistically significant correlations between genomic data and disease phenotypes, and works on further exploring and extracting significant signals from coding and non-coding DNA using available biobank data, as well as translating those findings into clinical applications. As the Director of Data & Analytics within the CDGG team, Aurelie is also responsible for providing the tools and capabilities for the team to build and leverage analytical pipelines as an asset and a strategic tool to perform successful research.
